- Notes // Примечания: “Alphonse Timofeevich Maklakoff, 43-year-old Russian who arrived from Harbin recently, was found dead in his room at 660 Avenue Joffre yesterday morning. The Russian was a professor of English in Harbin. He was found dead by servants who forced the lock after receiving no response from the tenant. The body lay on the bed peacefully, clad in a shirt. No signs of violence were in evidence, neither could any trace of poison be found in the room, eliminating all possibilities of suicide. The coroner pronounced a sentence of natural death.”
