- Notes // Примечания: “Coming from a wealthy Russian family of the Volga River district, he graduated from the Cadet and Military Cavalry School when he received his first rank as an officer and was assigned to the Lancer Regiment until the end of the World War. He was twice wounded and received three medals for bravery. After the revolution he was with the White Army of General Kolchak, going to Siberia and eventually to China. One of the most notable achievements during his life was riding an English thoroughbred horse from the Volga River to Vladivostok, often in difficult positions and without food. In Shanghai he won great popularity with local horsemen for schooling ponies in preparation of paper hunts.”
