  • Notes // Примечания: “Basile Oulibine, 25, Russian member of the French Municipal Police, died yesterday afternoon at St. Marie’s Hospital of injuries received when a Japanese military truck which he was guarding, collided with a concrete post on the French Bund. The truck was proceeding from Nantao to Hongkew along the French Bund, and Oulibine was stationed on the running board of the vehicle in accordance with the regulation that all Japanese army trucks passing through the French Concession must be accompanied by a member of the French Police. The collision took place opposite No. 7 French Bund, and the impact knocked the deceased violently to the ground, breaking his shoulder. The injured man was immediately taken to St. Marie’s Hospital but internal complications set in and he died at 5 pm.”
