They got into an argument, which escalated to an exchange of blows. “Then Voitzehovich rushed to his cabin, secured a knife and returned to stab the boatswain. Death was almost instantaneous.” At the court hearing, the murderer Constantine P. Voitzehovich, was described as “an educated Russian youth of 24 years, son of a late Russian general.” He was sentenced to ten years of prison.
