  • Notes // Примечания: “Poverty claimed another victim yesterday morning when the common law husband of Xenia Poliakova awoke to find her hanging in the alcove of their little room of the Naigai Wata Kaisha mills quarters at 881 Gordon Road. The husband, employed as a chauffeur, went to bed while his wife remained reading. When he awoke, he found she had committed suicide using a belt of her dress. She left a brief note saying she was tired of living and had decided to end her life. She was about 35 years of age and had lived at the mill quarters for the past two years.”
