  • Notes // Примечания: “Mrs Radist died following an attack of sunstroke four day ago. Her husband, busy pounding the pavements in search of work, returned to his his home Tuesday evening and found his wife dipping her head under a cold water tap. She complained of a headache. The night Mr Radist sat up with his wife until 2.30 in the morning, and, unable to keep his eyes open any longer, went to bed. The next morning he awoke to find his wife dead at his side. Instead of calling the police, Mr Radist brought in a few of his friends. The body was attired in Mrs Radist’s best clothes and a garland of flowers was placed on her head. Her daughter Claudia came home from school in the French Concession and notified the authorities. Police arrived on the scene, removed the finery from the woman’s body, took away the flowers and sent her to the mortuary. A verdict of death due to natural causes was returned.” Survived by husband Edward Radist, Latvian, aged 40, daughter Claudia, 14, son Nicholas, 11. Lived at Lane 720 Tongshan Road.
