• Notes // Примечания: Esther Robins was born in Russia. Immediately after her death, some descendants contested her will in the US Court for China, but the judge deemed her will valid. Mrs Robins’ gravestone was found by Shanghai Jewish Memorial in Minzhu Village in 2002: “The stone formed part of a village bridge covering a sewerage watercourse. The recovery team needed to video the underside of the bridge to discover the Hebrew inscription upon playback. The bridge was dismantled to remove the headstone and reassembled with a plank of wood in its place. Four recovery team members and a tricycle were required to lift and move the stone.”
