John Sheringovsky, son and daughter, who later brought up a court case against Shanghai Electric Construction Co. for damages. “The deceased woman’s family were dependent on her and she supported them by selling Russian foodstuffs which she imported. Her husband was incapacitated. Her son at the time of the accident had just completed education and mother was providing him with maintenance money. Her daughter was married but destitute and her husband had lung trouble. Deceased was returning by trailer car to her daughter’s house and together with several other passengers alighted at the corner. She crossed behind the tram car when the oncoming tram traveling fast knocked her down and dragged her 10 feet.”
