  • Notes // Примечания: Was driving with friend Alexander Pekkar when he was shot to death by the members of the Japanese Naval Landing Party who were on duty at Broadway Bridge over Hongkew Creek and whose suspicions were aroused by the actions of the Russians. The two men first ignored the sentries’ call to stop and drove off, then returned to the same spot, entered a house, placed some stolen goods into their car and attempted to drive off. The Japanese sentries tried to stop them, fired warning shots and eventually shot at the Russians, wounding Pekkar and killing Bobrisheff.
