Valentin Simagin who was shot and killed by a gunman on Wednesday evening were laid to rest in Bubbling Well Cemetery yesterday afternoon. Services were conducted in St Nicholas Church on Rue Corneille by Father Filimonoff assisted by a choir of mixed voices, after which a cortege was formed and proceeded to the cemetery, where the official party was in waiting. The pathway from the gate to the graveside was lined by members of the various branches of SMP. The casket was draped with the municipal flag and on it rested the deceased’s helmet and baton.” Born in Verkhneudinsk. Survived by brother Vladimir, electrician, b. 1911, and sister Antonina Elirova, b. 1918. ERC 111618.
