Moved with his family to China in April 1920. Died aged 44. Survived by wife Baroness Drachenfels, who lived at 395 Route Ferguson, and daughter Eugenia, b. 1905 in Blagoveschensk, who married US Navy officer Lieutenant Ralph B. Hunt in 1924, divorced him in 1927, and married Lawrence David Watts of the Machine Gun Co., SVC, in 1928. Drachenfels had some rocks in the Bering Sea named after him.
