After the revolution, in Harbin he had an important post in the administration of the CER. He came to Shanghai in 1927 doing some private work for a French bank and all of his spare time devoting to drawing and painting. Very able with brush and charcoal he was also a very clever caricaturist and his drawings appeared in the local papers. He remained a great enthusiast of the Shanghai Art Club, punctually attending its drawing classes and serving willingly as an Honorary Secretary of the club.”
