She had try to escape from his violent attacks prior and sheltered at the Foreign Women’s home. She had a sister in Vladivostok. The murderer Theodore V. Georgocopoulos became the first foreigner to be tried and convicted of murder under the Chinese Criminal Code. The court found him mentally degenerate and sentenced him to 14 years.
