Depressed over the departure of her lover she took poison after a farewell party given to Mr J Anderson, an American returning home on leave; he lives at the same boarding house. After the first attempt on her life, Miss Guber was taken to the hospital by a servant, she recovered and returned home. Later she recovered and returned home.
