  • Notes // Примечания: “The 50-year-old watchman died of some sickness in prison where he was serving a 60-day term for $125 fraud perpetrated in April with one named Nicolas G. Berjitsky, also in gaol. Initially he was sentenced to a $60 fine, but he had no money, so the judge withdrew the fine and sentenced him to serve 60 days in prison instead. On going into gaol the deceased had not shown any signs of being ill.”
