  • Notes // Примечания: Started journalistic career in Vladivostok, later moved to Harbin, writing for numerous Russian newspapers, including Zaria. Traveled extensively throughout the Far East, worked at the goldmines and performed on stage; was active in social life. He was deported from Harbin by the initiative of the Soviet Consulate and moved to Shanghai in 1926, where he worked at Shanghai Zaria. Though he suffered from poverty, he retained high spirits. Haritonoff died of a heart attack at the age of 42; survived by wife and son.
