After his death, his stepfather Colonel K. A. Stekloff initiated a court case against the employer company. He also published a call for a workers’ strike against Shanghai Tramways, blaming them unscrupulous business practices and mentioning that no company representatives were present at the funeral or sent condolences or wreaths.
