The girl was hurried into the ambulance seemingly suffering from something which she had taken and by the time General Hospital was reached she was pronounced dead upon entry. The police identified her as Tamara Kotliarova, aged 25. Other inmates of 1568 Ward Road could give no explanation to the affair, but indicated that the victim had taken her own life by drinking wood alcohol.” Kotliarova was a contestant and one of the seven finalists in the beauty pageant Miss Shanghai-1935. She was survived by mother and sister.
