- Notes // Примечания: “Colonel Kozloff, one of the best known adherents of the Czarist cause in Shanghai, committed suicide by shooting himself yesterday morning in his quarters at the Great Western Road Riding Academy where he was employed. He took his life following a dispute with a fellow employee. The deceased was born in 1879 of the nobility in POltava, and started his military career at an early age. He was a participant of the Russo-Japanese War, the Great War and later the Russian Civil War. He was a former Colonel in the crack Alexandrinsky Hussars, one of the best known units of the Czar’s regular cavalry, and he had a distinguished military career under the former regime. When he came to Shanghai his excellent horsemanship stood him in good stead and he found ready employment. He was well known and generally liked and though he gave much time to brooding over the change in the old order, he accepted the new turn of events with outward nonchalance and had a host of friends among the many patrons of the well-known riding institution.”
