  • Notes // Примечания: “Vitaly Kouznetzov, age 42, the Russian watchman employed by Mrs. Eliza Hardoon, who came home four nights and found that his common-law wife had taken a run-out powder on him... died at 8 am at the Russian Orthodox Hospital from the effects of an overdose of veronal, a potent type of sleeping powder that will result in death if taken in large quantities. Kouznetzov was found in a serious condition by his landlady the following morning. He is survived by a brother and two sisters living in Shanghai.”
